If you aren’t reaching your goals, there’s only one person to blame. You guessed it; it’s YOU. The good news is that you can turn it around with a few quick steps. Are you asking yourself, okay – but how do I reach my success goals?
It’s like learning to dance. At first, you will be clumsy; you might be shy to get out and try your moves on the dance floor. But when your friends pull you out there and show you some encouragement, you get excited. You let loose with your groove.
If you’re reading this article, you want to reach your goals and realize success from all your efforts. Who wouldn’t? It’s why we as real estate entrepreneurs and women in business do what we do, right? We just have to keep moving, trying out new steps and surrounding ourselves with like-minded people who will cheer us on and keep us on our path.
That’s why we need to network all the time.
You can’t just go to a networking event once a month and expect great things to happen. While that’s good, it’s just not good enough. Especially when opportunities to network arise every day.
Think about it… when you’re standing in line at a coffee shop, you’re chatting with the people in front and behind you. When you’re grocery shopping, you’re talking to people. When you’re shopping for a new pair of shoes, you’re talking to people. If you’re a woman, chances are you are always talking to people. So why not weave tidbits into your conversations about what you do in real estate investing… about your goals.
You won’t just lunge into that part of the conversation. You need to learn the art of weaving, waiting for the right moment to share that information. Typically it will be after you’ve asked the other person what they do for a living, you’ve let them tell you in detail and you have seriously listened. As a social courtesy the other person should ask you, “What about you? What do you do for a living?”
That’s your time to shine. You won’t be salesy, but you will share. By the end of the conversation, you should have exchanged information with that person and you should have asked if it makes sense for you to sit down and chat further about THEIR goals in real estate investing.
It’s called networking for a reason!!
You’ve heard the old saying, “Your net worth is equal to your network”? Well, it’s true. Your net worth begins to grow exponentially when you take networking seriously and weave it into your everyday life.
But that’s not all…
You also need to take a good look at those with whom you surround yourself in business and in life. It’s true what “they” say about the five people you hang out with most? Rather the net worth of the five people…
Also, what are they into… what do they like to do? Are they also interested in real estate investing and earning passive income from their deals? If not, that’s a problem.
Think I’m joking?
Okay. Close your eyes and think about that for a minute…
Who do you hang out with, how much do they earn, what do you talk about, are these people positive or are they Negative Nellies? How do you feel when you’re with them… built up or shot down?
As women we tend to overlook characteristics in people that men might not put up with. I’m here to tell you that this silliness has to stop. It’s time to get honest with ourselves. If you read my last article, you know we cannot fix people; the other side to that coin is that we don’t have to be involved with anyone who brings us down or who won’t support our goals.
Sometimes it can be a little painful to break old ties. However, it is absolutely necessary to stop giving our time and emotions to those who aren’t supportive. I’m not saying that everyone I know has to be into real estate investing, but they cannot be a negative influence. They must be supportive of my goals.

If not, you need to change your habits. When you do, you will note a dramatic difference in your net worth. You will be doing more deals because you will meet more investor-backers and can buy more properties. Then what happens? That’s right! More and more cashflow.
