Be. Do. Have.

Do you know what you want?

What do you want to make real? Can Real Estate make that happen?  Is it abundance?  Is it freedom?

The key to this game of life is living it on your terms. What is that for you? How would you know if your life was truly magnificent, extraordinary, unique, special, and what you’ve ultimately wanted?

I want you to think of ONE goal that you would like to accomplish this year.  What is a goal?  I believe a goal is the capacity to take a vision of what you want and make it real.   Have you thought of it?  Got it?  What is a Goal?

How many of you put down something you want to have?

How many of you put down something you want to do?

Did anyone in the room write down who you want to be?

Here’s the problem, we are focused on having and doing rather than who we are being.

It’s the “BE” is what will get us to the DO and HAVE.

Who do we need to BE to do what we want to DO?

Who do we need to BE to get the things we want to HAVE?

Be. Do. Have.

I had a mentor that has said to me… Deborah, you are version 1.0, and you can’t see how to get to the next step because it will be version 2.0 that will get you there.

Achieving any goal means leaving the familiar and venturing into a new area. Goals are planned conflicts with todays status quo. Many people don’t’ like to leave their present comfort zones, and therefore never set goals or never make meaningful progress.

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.  It requires taking calculated risks, learning to live with uncertainty, and hard work, just to mention a few things. It’s a learning process and thankfully you already have a team to help you along.

Yet, the person we are today might not be the person that can get us to where we want to go.

Zig Ziglar said, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals”

Be. Do. Have.

So your different ways of being will change the trajectory of your path.

Your identity is essentially who you are and what your stand for in your life.  It’s all about how you define yourself.  Your identity is merely a sum total of your beliefs.

You need to take stock of where you are and what resources you have. You have a unique set of experiences, skills, talents, abilities and passions. How do you currently define those?

The easiest way to find that out is to finish this sentence…

I am…

These are current definitions.

Who am I?

I am a mother, wife, and daughter

I am a number cruncher

I am a connector

I am a real estate investor

I am businesswoman

I am a coach

I am persistent

I am creative

I am a researcher

These are definitions that WE are currently living with. We KNOW we ARE these things.  We remain consistent with these things.

What qualities are you best known for today?  These may be things that you automatically know or they may be things people observe in you.  What are you really good at?  What are the skills and abilities at which you excel?  Key skills/talents?

Answering these questions will give you an assessment of what you are really good at, and going through them will help you develop a vision of who you truly are an what resources you have.

NEXT we will figure out whom we need to BE in order to get our “haves” and “do’s”

Who we need to BE going forward?

Human beings will do anything to remain consistent with how we define ourselves.

Let me say this again… We will do anything to remain consistent with how we define ourselves.

We need to now give ourselves some new definitions to move to where we want to go.

Who do you have to be to accomplish that particular goal?

Do you have to be focused?

Do you have to be a team player?  Team leader?

Do you need more energy?

Do you have to be a partner?

Do you have to be a deal maker?

More expressive?

Do you have to be an Expert?

Do you have to be a student?  Do you have to learn?

For example:

I am focused

I am an expert

I am a team player

I am expressive

I am a deal maker

I am persistent

I am energetic

What kind of person will it take to achieve all that you want?

To make your ultimate vision happen, you need to grow who you are – you need to BE the type of person that can make your dreams a reality.  It all begins with defining who that person is.

Creating an identity to describe yourself gives you a fresh sense of not only who you are, but also the role you play in moving toward your results in new, thrilling ways.

In real estate, or any other business, there are time when what we are doing just isn’t working.  Those are the time when we need to step back, take a deep breath and look for the growth in ourselves that will get us there.
